So what is a Leader?

A leader is a loosely define word that has many definitions. One such accepted definition is "one who has followers". I personally believe that this is a very vague and inconclusive definition of a leader. I believe a leader is one who has a vision and a plan to accomplish a specific goal. Leaders must be passionate and self-sacrificial about their calling. Leaders must also be role-models to others, and be morale boosters for those who are feeling down. I believe John Quincy Adams said it best when he said, "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader."

Orientation Ambassadors as Leaders

As Orientation Ambassadors, we must lead by example. In order to prove ourselves worthy of being Orientation Ambassadors, we must show and follow Clemson's Core Values with the utmost honor and dignity. These values of honesty, integrity, and respect are to be characteristics of a leader, specifically an Orientation Ambassador. Along with these core values, Ambassadors must show teamwork, determination, and perseverance as we strive to pursue a common goal: to show freshmen how awesome Clemson University really is. As Ambassadors, we must be leaders!
